The project
Our partner's association is a vibrant community that welcomes people from all walks of life every year. In 2023, they opened an associative canteen called “Au bout du monde” (which means “on the edge of the world”). During this project, you will help construct an exterior entrance to make visitors feel welcome and help them easily find their way. As part of this volunteer project, you will learn and use traditional masonry techniques for around 4 hours. You will also take turns participating in daily tasks, including cooking, gardening, and cleaning.
Accommodation & food
You will camp in our partner's open space, where they have set up large collective tents (accommodating 10 to 16 people). You will sleep in bunk beds, separated by gender. Please bring a good sleeping bag and a pillow! You will have access to the indoor showers and toilets, and there are also dry toilets outside. The place is equipped with a professional-grade kitchen. Together with the project leaders, your group will take turns preparing meals each day. In Beaumotte, we eat meat twice a week, and Wi-Fi is limited in certain rooms of the house. There is no washing machine, so bring enough clothes to last 15 days or hand detergent for washing!
Location & leisure
The “Association du Centre de Beaumotte” is located in the village of Beaumotte-Aubertans (70190), about 30 minutes from Besançon.
Leisure activities
Afternoons and weekends will be devoted to leisure. You will organise these with the project leaders and be encouraged to propose activities. Some essential activities include a visit to Besançon, team sports, and various fun activities.
Project host
If you want to experience collective living, learn to cooperate, and discover different ways of living and perspectives on the world, come to the “Centre de Beaumotte”, an association focused on public education. They await you with enthusiasm in the countryside, where you'll share your daily life with youth from around the world and different socioeconomic backgrounds. In their house, they treasure differences!
