The project
During this 2-week programme, you'll focus on renovating the premises of the local association. Mornings will be dedicated to finishing touches on the building, including:
Painting: Smoothing and touching up paintwork in various rooms, sanding beams, and painting according to the commune’s preferences.
Construction: Building shelves for different areas like the laundry room, library, community café, or offices, using materials salvaged from the building’s deconstruction.
Accommodation & food
You'll stay at the Vieux Logis de Saint Amand in shared rooms with 2 to 3 people. Meals will be prepared and enjoyed together, with opportunities for everyone to cook. Bring along your favourite recipes to share!
Location & leisure
Location: Coly - St Amand is in the beautiful Périgord Noir region, just 10 km from the famous Lascaux caves, nestled between Périgueux and Brive.
Leisure Activities: Explore the area through site visits and nature activities. You will work with animators and fellow participants to create your own leisure programme, focusing on discovering the local culture and environment rather than typical tourist activities.
Project host
The Ecocycle association, based in the historic town of St Amand de Coly, is spearheading this project. The town, formed from the merging of two former municipalities, is situated in a lush valley rich in history. Ecocycle is dedicated to community-focused, climate-conscious projects and is working on a major renovation of a local building provided by the local authority. Your efforts will help prepare this space to welcome the community. You'll experience the warm hospitality of the locals and the charm of the region while collaborating with other volunteers and organisers to plan and enjoy your activities.
